It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

This Christmas as with anything these days was so much fun with Emma. She really is such a sweet little girl and loves being around people. She has lots of family, so that is a good thing! After taking the traditional trip to see Santa, we visited my family in Cedartown for the few days before Christmas, then Christmas Eve headed back to Ellijay for our first Christmas morning as a family of three. It was so much fun playing Santa and getting all her toys set up in the living room.
I was a little worried about her getting into the Christmas tree and knocking it over. I had visions of tons of ornaments breaking, but actually Emma was more fascinated with the lights and I put some non breakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree and she would usually gently take them off. Whew.
Christmas 2012 was a success. So thankful for wonderful family and friends to celebrate the birth of Christ!
Here are some pictures from December and Christmas.

Our big Christmas tree. We had three total (2 were actually left with the house - sweet!)

Congratulations to my little brother on graduating from the University of Georgia!

Making gingerbread men with Emma. They didn't stand a chance.

Her famous fish face.

Emma was a little lamb in a children's Christmas play at Craig's parent's church. Basically she and another toddler just toddled around, Emma cackling at him the whole time (I'll have to get the video up here soon). This was our food break, because she keep signing that she wanted to eat and saying, "eht, eht".

Finally got to meet our new cousin Gray! (my cousin Joy's little girl) - she was only 2 weeks old

This! Emma's very own kitchen - I think I was just as excited as Emma about this one.

The other favorite thing to do at Papa's - throw the dominos into the box one by one and say "boom, boom, boom". She did the same thing at my parent's house with acorns.

This girl had one great Christmas, as did all of us!

And here's what my New Year looks like - We are going to plant a vegetable garden. I have all the will in the world, but a black thumb, so we'll see how this goes!

First Trip to See Santa

Once I realized that unless you are thinking about Christmas mid October, you can't get an appointment (yes, you have to make appointments now) with Santa at most malls around. So, we decided to take the more laid back approach and did the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. This was perfect as it was only 30 minutes from our house, no waiting in line and Emma got to ride on a train and be around other kids which she loves. Emma and Santa weren't too sure what to think of each other though. ;)

Visits from friends

We have experienced some unusually hot weather even into December - like 75 degrees hot - yuck. But, it has afforded Emma and I to do lots of playing outside in the leaves, sticks and pine straw of our front yard. She loves throwing the leaves up in the air and just rolling around in them. I think we are raising a mountain girl! ;)

This face just makes my heart melt. She's really into Baby Einstein in this picture.

We had a full weekend with friends one weekend late in November and we all had a blast. Both couples have boys; Evan 3 weeks younger than Emma and Caleb 3 months older. So blessed to have friends in the same life stage as us!

Emma thought it was hilarious that she could push Caleb around on her little car. Strong girl!
