A little after she turned 5 months old we started thinking about giving her some real food. She is so active and increasingly curious about our food that we thought we would let her get a taste. I say a taste because that's really all it was, as she is getting used to this new consistency of food. It didn't take her long - she is well on her way to eating real food. We skipped the whole rice cereal thing and went straight for the good stuff. We have just been giving her bites of whatever vegetable we are eating. It's so much easier that way and it makes us think about what we are eating! She made the funniest face with the avocado - probably because it has a little bit of a bitter taste and because it was the first taste of real food that she had tried. She seems to really enjoy eating though - so far, it doesn't seem like we will have a picky eater. The first thing she ate a substantial bit of was sweet potato, which she really seemed to enjoy. She is quite the little spitter, so now we have multi-colored spit up ;) She has eaten avocado, sweet potato, butternut squash, banana, apple, carrots, and spinach.
She took her first "steps" crawling this month. She is a mover and loves to see all that is going on around her. Although, the crawling was put on hold when she discovered her new skill of sitting up. Now if I put her on her tummy she immediately rolls over and sits up.
She loves her daddy and gets so excited when he gets home from work.
One of Emma's favorite things - a day at the park!
Love my girl!
Emma loves her buddy Oliver (I keep him three days a week - it's great bc I can take Emma with me!). When she sees him she flaps her arms and legs in excitement ;)
Emma, we are so blessed to be your parents and it has been the most fun 6 months we could have ever imagined. I can't wait to see you grow up into a little girl in the next 6 months! We love you so much!
