Emma: 3 months

Emma turned 3 months old on January 21st and I turn 27 on January 24th. I say this every time, but she really is so much fun! I am so thankful for a healthy baby and a such a wonderful husband and father. Very blessed.
She is doing all sorts of new things this month:
smiles ALL the time
I think we will end up with a little blondie, as her hair is getting lighter as more grows in
laughed for the first time at Roy her blue stuffed elephant
rolls over on her side when she smiles
can turn 360 degrees while laying on her back
sleeping through the night! (95% of the time)
took her first trip on an airplane
first trip to another state - Utah - and saw snow
she's not a big pacifier fan, but loves sucking on her fingers
sucks on her lower lip constantly
rolling over now (happened the day before she turned 3 months!)

                         happy baby

It's great being surrounded by so many people that are in the same stage of life that we are. Our church is overflowing with babies and babies on the way. One couple that we have gotten to know well over the past several months (we actually took a childbirth class with them) is Melissa and Eric Vanderhorst and their cute little boy Evan. Emma and Evan are a week and a half apart - so fun.

I have gone back to keeping Oliver, 18 months, three days a week. I have kept him since he was five weeks old! It was definitely a shock, going from having a newborn to adding a year and a half year old, but it is so much fun. Emma loves watching Oliver walk and talk and he is fascinated with the tiny little person who rolls around on the ground.

Emma's big feat during this month was rolling over - here is a video (I actually caught her doing it!). Ignore my super high pitched baby voice:

2 months old

So this is a little late since Emma turned 2 months old December 21st, but better late than never. She is so much fun, it seems like everyday she does something new. This month she is smiling, making eye contact, reacting to us, playing with her feet, and recently sleeping through the night!! I woke up scared to death the first night because she slept 9 1/2 hours. I thought surely I had gotten up and just forgotten, but I went in to check on her at 7am and she was just starting her wake up routine (it usually takes her about 10 minutes of stretching to really wake up ... she got that Hensley gene)! I am absolutely loving being at home with her - it's fun to have a buddy to run errands with. ;)

2 month check-up:
Weight: 10 pounds 8 ounces
Height: 22 3/4 inches
She is in the 75th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. Perfect!

This is Emma's first Christmas and we had to wrap at least one gift for her - so she got Eric Carle's book, The Very Busy Spider, and some wool socks from REI for our ski trip.
We left on Christmas morning to fly to Deer Valley Utah to go skiing with my family. She has shown herself to be a fairly easy baby, so she was great on the airplane and through all of our travels.

Here are some pictures from this month:

                  The perfect little princess ;)

                    She loves bath time!
